Starpoker is the site made for Indian poker players providing award-winning secure software. This website comes with easy-to-learn tutorials and practices hands with winnings up to INR 3 lakhs.
In online poker, the most alluring factor is the action available in a poker room. But we also need to look beyond this one, vital factor. The functionality and user interface of a poker room make a big difference. It’s really annoying to see poker rooms which are cluttered with haphazard info or rooms where looking for a table becomes a task in itself. Don’t you just hate it when you’re trying to make a raise and the slider goes haywire? I like an online site which has a good interface, where all the details are presented ergonomically.
Today, I’m going to discuss Indian poker sites which are the best in the business in terms of their user interface and feel. I’ll be judging poker rooms based on their Windows Client, online Instant play, and their Android app. The review criteria are ease of use, aesthetic appeal, functionality, load time, network usage and overall feel of the poker room. In this article, I won’t be discussing action or the quality and depth of games available.
1. PokerStars
PokerStars is the biggest online poker room in the world and it finally entered the Indian market this April.
The Windows software is glitch-free and doesn’t hog the network at all; same goes for the Android app. The app is the best out of all poker rooms. It’s a perfect replication of the Windows software. The Instant play doesn’t give a full list of tournaments or cash games available. They might want to update this.
The main lobby is clean and the filters make it really easy to zero-in on specific games/tournaments. Almost everything can be customized. You can change tournament information displayed as per your liking. Rewards, Bonuses and Tournament tickets are displayed in a clear, concise manner. They are updated immediately and redeeming is very simple.
At the tables, all information is available in an instant. You can customize the deck, background, and the felt color. There’s even an option to adjust the bet slider. You can also email hand history.
The biggest factor that separates PokerStars from the rest is the ability to integrate HUD/poker strategy software. All major HUDs are compatible with the PokerStars client.
2. Spartan Poker/FTR Poker
Since FTR is a part of SpartanPoker now and they use the same interface, I’m reviewing them together. The backend is the same and you can play on either site to access games/tournaments.
The all-new SpartanPoker software user interface looks really impressive. The information is displayed in a crisp, precise manner. Choosing a table or a tourney is a breeze. Tournament lobbies display all the required information. The software, app and instant play have no glitches at all nor do they take up a lot of network or hardware resources.
Customizations options are on point. You can virtually customize everything in the Windows software. I only found a very minor glitch in the hotkeys and it hardly affects the game.
Spartan Poker is the only other Indian poker room which supports a couple of HUDs. Setting the HUD is a cumbersome process but you only have to do it once. As soon as you purchase a HUD, you will also need to purchase a converter which makes the HUD compatible with Spartan. In any case, this is a very important feature for players who use HUDs.
3. Mad Over Poker
Mad Over Poker uses the same software as SpartanPoker. The app is identical as well. Therefore, there isn’t anything different to review for MOP. The only shortfall is the ability to integrate the software with a HUD.
4. PokerBaazi
PokerBaazi is one of the best Indian poker rooms and has a huge loyal customer base. The Windows client isn’t spectacular but has all functionalities figured out. I am impressed by the app as well. Pokerbaazi has really worked on their Instant play function. The jazzed-up instant play looks great. The portrait mode is refreshing and takes out any guesswork out of choosing a table or playing hands.
5. Adda52
Adda52 is one of the best and oldest poker rooms operating in India. Goes without saying, they’ve been a fan favorite for years. Looks-wise, Adda52 might not be the best, but all functionality and user controls are managed really well. They could work a bit on the table display as well. Though it doesn’t make much of a difference; aesthetically it doesn’t look as impressive.
I have been playing on this site for years and haven’t had any issues with the software, gameplay or withdrawing funds.
This was my round-up of the top 5 Indian Poker Rooms in terms of their User Interface! Any suggestions or comments are welcome.
